About us

At Musgrave St Medical Practice, it is our priority to establish a dedicated relationship with our patients and our goal is to help you achieve optimal health by excellent continuity of care.

Appointments

Please contact our friendly reception staff to book an appointment. We aim to provide continuity of care for patients so please ask for your doctor by name if you prefer. If you think you may need a longer appointment (more than one issue to discuss, management plans etc) please let us know when you book your appointment so that sufficient time may be allocated to have your issues addressed.

Patients can also make their appointments via HotDoc.

Phone Calls

Emergencies excepted, most queries are best dealt with by consultation with your GP. If appropriate, your doctor may discuss a telephone query over the phone, or a message taken and your call returned when convenient.

Results

If you have a pathology test or radiology exam after your visit, we encourage you in most instances to return to discuss the results. Sometimes it may be sufficient to phone for a result. We will try to reach you about an abnormal result, but we won’t always get through – it is important to know about your tests, so please follow them up with an enquiry.

Recalls

It is our practice to send recall reminders for repeat tests and check-ups to help you stay up to date with your health. If you do not wish to be enrolled in this recall system please let your doctor know.

Cultural Diversity

We are interested in the sociocultural background of our patients. Please bring up any factors which you think might assist in your care. We use a telephone-based translation service. If English is not easy for you, try to come with a friend or family member who may be able to help translate for you.

Payment

We accept cash, Visa or Mastercard. Our fees are displayed at reception, however reduced fees are offered to HealthCare cardholders, pensioners and Veteran’s Affairs cardholders. Please discuss any queries you may have about payment with your GP or with reception staff.

Smoking

We have a policy of no smoking in the surgery.

Privacy

This practice complies with the Federal Privacy Act (2000). Our policy is that the patient’s right to privacy must be respected and preserved in all circumstances. Privacy considerations also extend to any documentation that records the patient’s personal details and medical/treatment histories. These will not be shared with individuals or third parties without patient consent.

Feedback

We value your feedback and always strive for improvement. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care we are very keen to know about it. Please feel free to talk with one of the doctors or our practice manager, Coral, about any problems you may have with the service we provide. If you have questions about our practice we are always happy to discuss these with you.
