Dr Jessica Nickell joined the practice in 2023. Dr Jessica is interested in all varied aspects of general practice and, coming from an obstetrics and gynecology background, she has a special interest in women's health and antenatal care.
Jess is trained in:
- Infant/child reviews and vaccines
- Pregnancy care
- Implanon insertion/removal
- Mirena insertion/removal
- Iron infusions
She is available Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday and Friday's.
Dr Fergus Ring graduated in medicine from the University of Sydney and then completed further training in Paediatrics at the University of NSW and Alberta Children's Hospital in Canada, before entering General Practice.
He has been providing care to the general population of the Gold Coast and Tweed since 1988. He was working in clinical Paediatrics at the Tweed Heads Hospital for almost 30 years and currently continues to teach Paediatric students.
Dr Ring has a special interest in primary care paediatrics with all aspects of child health. He also has expertise in management of feeding issues in babies and in particular tongue ties.
Dr John Stretch is a graduate of the University of Glasgow and has been a GP on the Gold Coast since 1996. He has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery.
Dr Stretch has obtained the Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) from the University of Queensland and is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia
Dr Stretch is also a Fellow of the Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine and undertook study trips to both Hong Kong and Cardiff before being awarded the internationally recognised Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University, Wales in 2007.
"My aim is to provide 'best practice', 'evidence based' diagnosis and management of medical problems in order to provide 'whole person' medical care to appropriately treat and manage medical problems so that quality of life is maximised for people under my care.''
Dr Burger aims to maximise medical management and quality of life for persons with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, asthma and other chronic lung diseases, osteoporosis, arthritis, Indigenous health, and all other chronic medical conditions.
Dr Jeffrey Buckland has, over the long term, has been part of the Musgrave Medical Practice Team. He now works with us part time to cover for other Doctor's leave.
Dr Jeffrey Buckland graduated from Auckland University Medical School in 1979. He completed a Diploma in Obstetrics in 1982 and commenced General Practice and Obstetric s in Thames, New Zealand.
Dr Buckland moved to Tweed Heads in 1995, he took up VMO positions at Tweed Heads Public Hospital and John Flynn Private.
Dr Fabian Ring joined the practice in 2022. He grew up in Tugun, and lives with his wife and daughter in Currumbin. He enjoys cycling to work, and surfing.
Fabian is a Director on the Board of GPGC and has a Special Interest in Obstetric Care, Women's and Children's Health. He has completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG), a First Class Honors in Pre-eclampsia in Pregnancy and is a Co-author on a Neonatal/Paediatric publication.

Fabian is an experienced doctor with a further three years of training at the Gold Coast University Hospital where he worked in a range of areas from the Emergency Department to Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Dr Scott Thompson is GP fellow with the RACGP who has experience in Family Health, Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine.
His passion for medicine stems from his desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. He believes in a patient-centered care.
Scott did his medical degree at the James Cook University in Townsville, graduating in 2009. Australian born, he has a proud New Zealand Maori heritage.
He is passionate about managing all aspects of general practice for his patients. Scott completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2018.
Dr Genevieve Dwyer graduated from Griffith University and completed her hospital training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She has also worked several rural towns in Queensland, most recently Dalby, across both hospital and general practice settings, developing a strong appreciation for community-based care.
Genevieve has completed a Graduate Diploma in Child Health and has a particular interest in child and adolescent health, and supporting families through all stages of development. Dr Dwyer also has a strong interest in women’s health and but enjoys providing holistic, patient-centered care to all her patients.
Dr Alastair Macdonald has been based in South-East Queensland hospitals before moving into general practice. He has a passion for issues affecting the urinary tract, including prostate cancer, difficulty passing urine, urinary tract infections and erectile dysfunction. His other areas of interest include chronic disease management, skin lesion removal and weight loss management, having also completed a diploma in Human Nutrition. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and watching his beloved Hawthorn Hawks.
